If that's living, I don't even wanna KNOW what dying is. lol The only reason we die is because we accept it as an inevitability... ahhhh!!!
Valediction by Sultan Peppershaker
Here where the rain falls heavily, and the sparkling sea shimmers All that is left in her once radiant eyes are mere glimmers
Unable to look into her eyes, he turns and looks at the stars Each of the little stars like thoughts, each of the little thoughts like scars
I love you with my heart and soul But inside me I feel these chains And while these chains do keep me whole They dissolve the blood in my veins.
He turns back to her and gently brushes away one of her tears Of all the things he's done, he's always stood beside her through the years
But still, the woman cries; her knight she loved so long will leave her soon She turns and sees her life disappear, just like the inconstant moon
He gazes at her face, the one he once regarded as his love He lost the flame; it won't reignite: he clipped the wings of the dove
I love you with my heart and soul But inside me I feel these chains And while these chains do keep me whole They dissolve the blood in my veins.
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises above the serengheti Thinking of his future, he is not sad, but happy already
It is life that ends, although this thought did not once cross his mind's eyes He just turned back to her and bid her farewell beneath a disguise
I love you with my heart and soul But inside me I feel these chains And while these chains do keep me whole They dissolve the blood in my veins. [/blockquote]

Totally resurrecting this thread.
The Pessimist - by Sultan Peppershaker
I look outside; the sun's out today but it looks hot out so inside I'll stay.
People outside, birds flying high, but I just feel like letting time slide by.
It's the type of day that all the kids yearned but if I go out I'll just get burned.
Blue skies above us dismissed with a sigh I don't mind letting the time pass me by
The people exclaim how the day's so great I'll feel better soon, I just have to wait.
And now I'm thinking of that old blue sky wishing I hadn't let the time slip by

I also wrote this one, but it's just not very good... Untitled, by Sultan Peppershaker I'm sick of the secrets I'm sick of the lies I'm sick every day of putting on my disguise
I walk down the aisle actors whizzing past I want to get off; the play's going too fast
I hate to admit this pain's too much to take my life is jolted, as if struck by an earthquake
they can say what they want and say what they mean but when it adds up it won't change a thing
if I was stronger I may have had hope but there are too many frayed spots on my rope
it's always night now I won't wait for dawn I wonder if they'll say anything when I'm gone
I made my decision despite what they plea another six months, and they'll forget about me
so I'm ready right now of this I am certain ...my final act closes and down goes the curtain

Learned a little new somethin' somethin' today. What you do is you take the first line of a song or poem that already exists, and write your own poem using that same line as your first one. I did it with "Nocturnal Pleasure" by Meat Loaf, and I italicized the first line...Untitled by Sultan Peppershaker The entire city is burning... And I'm standing in the blist'ring heat It's the day we all knew had to come It's the day we all thought we'd never meet
The smoke billowing up into the clouds I stand alone in the heart of the abyss People dart along, smoke obscures their faces The fire grows larger, the flames writhe and hiss
This smold'ring inferno will not be stopped Countless souls perish that no one will save I laugh as the flames draw closer to me Beneath the ashes, you'll find my grave. It's by no means very good, but it's pretty fun. ^_^

For English, we had to write a sonnet on something we love, and i wrote mine on ancient Egypt:
Egypt~ Nicole
Palaces and cities all very primitive In Egypt, land of mystery The pyramids and palaces, all massive Where sand and pyramids make up the scenery The pharaohs built grand monuments And took over foreign lands All built by these famous ancients Built, by the pharaoh’s commands The monuments still stand today Gods and goddesses images on the walls Still standing, for Egypt to display Slowly disappearing off of the walls Today, the magic engulfs us Egypt, land of magic and papyrus
it's ok i guess.

I wrote this one a long time ago, and i just recently used it for my English Project: LOVE By: Nicole The most powerful force on earth We experience it even before our birth It’s shared between two or a large family It fills our minds and hearts with glee It can join or break It can be too much for our hearts to take It can start at first sight It can make our lives very bright It makes two into one We are with them till our life is done It has it’s own magical power But life ain’t as pretty as a flower It takes work to keep on growing Yet, it can start without us even knowing It can sneak up and attack Or, stab us in the back *snaps*
