Ok, I know I'm posting alot of stuff from 8th grade but it's because the only literature I have besides famous people is from 8th grade or below. I'm pretty sure this will be the last one. So here's another person from my 8th grade class.
People wonder why...
By: Ryann Leith
People wonder why the sky is blue, and dark blue. Here's the answer. The gods had a job; they had to paint the Earth and sky. They decided that they were going to paint the sky green but before they got to the sky they had to paint the grass, leaves, plants, and some other stuff green. But when they got done with that they ran out of paint. Next they went down the row of colors and they saw yellow. So they promised that they were going to have enough paint to paint the sky yellow, but like always they had to paint stuff on the earth yellow first. So they painted the sun moon and stars. So they painted sunflowers and many different types of flowers, yellow. Just like they promised they were going to paint the sky yellow, but just as they reached into the bucket for yellow it was drip dry. Next in the row of paints was red so they painted ladybugs, red ants, blood worms, roses and hearts red. Again they were going to paint the sky red but they ran out of paint. Next down the row of colors was dark blue. They didn't really paint anything dark blue and they put it aside. Next, was white. They thought they were going to keep some white around so they put white blotches in the sky, they called them clouds. The gods had a little bit of white left over, so they put it aside. That was all the colors the gods had at the time.
Zeus was walking by the paints they had set aside and he accidentally knocked the paints over. The blue got contaminated with the white. They mixed the blue with the white and got light blue. Luckily only half of the blue got contaminated! So they took the light blue paint and painted the sky, but half way through they ran out of paint. Then they only had a half of container of dark blue paint, so the gods decided to paint the other half of the sky dark blue.
Then there was a war because the gods wanted their own pretty sky. So the god of the sun and clouds took them and put them on the light blue sky and called that day. And the people would be awake when the light blue sky is out.
The god of the moon and stars took them and put them on the dark sky and called it night. The people would be sleeping when the dark blue sky is out.
That's why the sky is light and dark blue.
