[glow=red,2,300]This is a one-shot song-fic about Phil and Keely if he were to go back to 2121, based off of the song “I Will Be Right Here Waiting For You” by Richard Marx~[/glow]
Oceans apart, day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
She sat on her bed, crying herself to sleep yet again as another day passed without him. Since he had left she had fallen into deep depression, he was all that mattered to her anymore and now that was gone.
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever
Tear after tear slid down her face and landed on her favorite picture of the two of them together. When they were happy, and hopelessly in love.
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
She remembered the day he had said they were leaving, how much he didn’t want to leave her, how much he had argued with his parents over this, and had been defeated. The last thing he said to her before he left was “I promise I’ll come back, Keel. Always remember that I love you.”
I took for granted, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
She had watched him walk away, turn his back on the one he loved most, but she knew one day he would return, he’d never broken a promise to her before and she longed for that day to come. But, could she wait that long?
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me goin' crazy
She made her way over to his old house like many times before, finding her way up to his room and falling to her knees on the hardwood floor. She surveyed the room with her eyes, praying to see some sign that he’d return. What she saw amazed her. She noticed his necklace and a piece of paper lying on the empty desk in the corner of the room.
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
The note had song lyrics on it, and they fit her feelings perfectly. She slid the necklace that he had never ever taken off before around her neck, swearing to do the same until the day he returned. “I’ll be right here waiting for you,” she told herself and wandered home, a smile plastered across her face.
I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance
As she lay in bed that night she heard a strange sound, like the one she had heard the day her life fell apart when he left. ‘It can’t be, don’t get your hopes up,” she told herself, and turned over, drifting back to sleep.
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me goin' crazy
The next day, she awoke to find someone standing over her, convinced it was yet another dream she rolled over, pulling the covers over her head. When she felt someone wrap their arms around her, she was brought back to reality. “Phil!” she cried, sitting straight up and rocketing into his arms.
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
Her waiting was finally over, he was back and he promised it was for good. “Welcome home, Phil” she said, bringing her lips to his in a passionate kiss.
“I missed you, Keel” he said, holding her close to him.
She rested her head against her chest, “I told you I’d be right here waiting for you.”
